Our mission
Our mission
We give therapists the skills and knowledge to deliver CFDT in their practice. Through training, ongoing education, consultation, research and outcomes analysis, we work to raise the standard of CFDT practice and improve client outcomes.
Our story
From one family's search to a new therapy
What started as “learning difficulties” for our children in elementary school grew into several diagnosable conditions. The best hope we were offered was that, after years of intervention, they might learn to cope with “chronic” conditions. We couldn’t accept that.
We spent a decade studying published research in neuroscience and related fields and consulting professionals across psychology, occupational, physical and speech therapy, and medicine. From that work we built a dynamic, engagement-based approach. It worked for our children.
Working with a community mental health clinic, we refined it for a wider range of mental health needs. Clients who strengthened their primary cognitive functions often saw benefits elsewhere: healthier relationships, more confidence, less frustration and better impulse control. That approach became CFDT.
That approach became CFDT.
